Shops and department stores have specific lighting requirements. This is because, compared with other lighting tasks, the expectations here are extended by the demands of retail. In retail lighting, alongside economy, excellent illumination of the products and the most faithful possible colour rendering, the most important considerations are creating the desired atmosphere and attracting the interest of customers — all in keeping with the architectural design of the interior. When planning the lighting of a shop we must also take into account — besides the aspects already mentioned — that shops are frequently refitted. The lighting system therefore has to be flexible, and because lighting concepts change constantly it must allow for more or fewer luminaires to be mounted as required. Once a well-considered track system has been installed, these changes are possible with the least possible effort.

Alongside conventional metal halide lamps, our product range now also includes energy-efficient LED luminaires with high colour rendering (Ra/CRI >90), thanks to which every shade of the product's colours is reproduced naturally, so customers are not misled. The light from these sources is free of UV and IR radiation, so the colours of the illuminated object do not shift or fade as they would, for example, under direct sunlight. Good lighting puts the goods on sale in the spotlight and makes every detail visible to the customer. Using narrow- or wide-beam spotlights we can illuminate entire surfaces or pick out individual objects.

Taking these professional considerations into account, we can create lighting that works well functionally. We believe, however, that when it comes to retail lighting the possibilities do not end there.
